Happiness isn’t always about having more; sometimes, it’s about becoming more of who you truly are.

Eventually, you realize that losing what was never meant for you is better than losing yourself trying to hold on to it. You’d rather stand alone than remain in a place that requires you to become someone you’re not. Growth isn’t only about what you gain. It’s also about what you’re willing to let go of.

Some things only leave when you’re finally ready to value yourself more than you fear the loss. Learn to recognize when it’s time to move on from the job, emotion, relationship, event, environment, conversation, or identity that has run its course. We hold on to so many things long after their season has ended, and eventually, they become sources of suffering. Often, we cling to the very things our intuition has been guiding us away from.

Happiness isn’t necessarily about having more. It’s about being more of yourself. It’s about creating a life that doesn’t require you to become someone else to enjoy it. A life where you have enough, and feel like enough, to say no to anything that doesn’t align with your values. A life with enough freedom that no one else gets to control who you are or how you live. Holding on to the wrong things doesn’t make you more righteous, kind, or understanding. It makes you exhausted, resentful, and disconnected from yourself. Sometimes, the most loving thing life does is remove you from spaces that were slowly removing you from yourself. What felt like loss was actually a return to your heart.
